The Creator Of Yoga Sutras - Maharishi PatanjaliThe Creator Of Yoga Sutras - Maharishi Patanjali
The Creator Of Yoga Sutras - Maharishi Patanjali
The graceful figure of the great sage and master Avatar Patanjali is beautifully carved out of stone with great refinement and detail. He was the founder and father of Yoga. He was considered to be a fully self-realized avatar, who had mastered the mind, the body, its senses, and even this physical world. He was also a profound knower of knowledge which made him an amazing philosopher and teacher of how to master your life. Patanjali was an incarnation of Adi S'esha who is the first ego-expansion of Vishnu, Sankarshana. Sankarshana, the manifestation of Vishnu His primeval energies and opulences, is part of the so-called catur vyuha, the fourfold manifestation of Vishnu. And this aspect of the Lord is being nicely depicted in the stone figure. Thus may Patañjali be considered as the one incarnation of God defending the ego of yoga.

Gentle Mother Kali Brass StatueGentle Mother Kali Brass Statue
Gentle Mother Kali Brass Statue

Kali is the fearful and ferocious form of the mother goddess Durga. As the legend says, in one of her the battles with the evil forces, Kali was so much involved in the killing spree that she began destroying everything in sight. To stop her, Lord Shiva threw himself under her feet. Awestruck, Kali stuck out her tongue in astonishment, and put an end to her homicidal rampage. So the common image of Kali shows her in her mêlée mood, standing with one foot on Shiva's chest, with her enormous tongue stuck out. The artist has chiseled out the heavily adorned image of the Kali with minute details.
Kali is often represented with the fiercest features. She has four arms, with a sword in one hand and the head of a demon in another. The other two hands bless her worshippers, and say, "fear not"! She has two dead heads for her earrings, a string of skulls as necklace, and a girdle made of human hands as her clothing. Her tongue protrudes from her mouth, her eyes are red, and her face and breasts are sullied with blood. She stands with one foot on the thigh, and another on the chest of her husband, Shiva.
Her black complexion symbolizes her all-embracing and transcendental nature. Her nudity is primeval, fundamental, and transparent like Nature — the earth, sea, and sky. Kali is free from the illusory covering, for she is beyond the all maya or "false consciousness." Kali's garland of fifty human heads that stands for the fifty letters in the Sanskrit alphabet, symbolizes infinite knowledge.
Her girdle of severed human hands signifies work and liberation from the cycle of karma. Her white teeth show her inner purity, and her red lolling tongue indicates her

Aumkara Deva -Kalamkari Pen Painting

The Kalamkari painting of Lord Ganesha, who is also called Aumkara has revealed the beauty of this form of painting. The creation of the Kalamkari painting is a quite tame consuming process. In this age of artificial hyes that are also harmful to our skins, the artists in this form of painting use natural dyes for colour. Colourful depiction of the Lord along with his vehicle mouse is a treat to the eyes.
Ganesha is also known as Omkara or Aumkara or having the form of Om (or Aum). In fact, the shape of his body is a copy of the outline of the Devanagari letter, which indicates the celebrated Bija Mantra. For this reason, Ganesha is considered the bodily incarnation of the entire Cosmos, He who is at the base of all of the phenomenal world (Vishvadhara, Jagadoddhara). Moreover, in the Tamil language, the sacred syllable is indicated precisely by a character that recalls the shape of the elephant's head of Ganesha.
