Madhubani painting or Mithila painting is a style of Indian painting this is a form of traditional art practiced in northern Bihar, known as the Mithilanchal. Originating from wall paintings or decorations and primarily practiced by rural women, this art form depicts nature and mythological tales, which have been passed on through generations in the form of simplistic graphics in two-dimensional perspective. Painting is done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments, and is characterized by eye-catching geometrical patterns.
